Do you make custom cakes?

We are passionate about baking and how happy it makes people feel. We love to create and explore to provide customers with unique products, so if you have an idea or want something special please use our Bespoke Cake Ordering Form and we'll be in touch.

Do you make Christmas Cakes & treats?

Christmas is such a happy time in the baking world. The kitchen smells like heaven and everything builds up to the good holiday times! It’s everyone’s busiest time of the year and we love to know we can help our customers by offering the most traditional, homemade style cakes and tarts, saving time and stress! Our Christmas cakes are handmade and decorated using Jenny’s family recipe and technique she perfected through the years. They are a delight to the senses and everybody knows it’s not Christmas without a real Christmas cake on the table. Our Christmas mince pies are not far behind. They are delicious, the perfect gift, and sell out fast as we bake limited numbers. There’s usually a customer fight over the last packet!

Do you offer delivery?

We offer delivery to Queenstown town centre and Frankton area for a $45.00 fee from Monday to Friday and times will depend on our work schedule. The wedding cake delivery fee and set up fee is $90.00. Prices can be readjusted without notice but you will always be informed of the current prices when you place the order. 

What are your opening hours?

We are open for orders and pick up Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 3:30 pm. We close on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays.

How far in advance do I need to place an order?

We ask for a minimum of 48 hours notice for any celebration cakes and baked goods and 2 months notice for wedding cakes. Please be in touch if you need to place a last-minute order as we are very likely to be able to accommodate it.

How do I place an order?

You can order through our online shop and forms, email us at or call 03 442 8680. Please don’t order through social media messages as they get easily lost.

How is my cake packaged for pick up?

All cakes are kept refrigerated until pick-up time to make sure they can be safely transported. You’ll receive your cake in a box ready to go and the best place for traveling with it is on the floor of the front/ back seat or boot. We don’t recommend placing it on the seat. Don’t leave your cake in a hot car and don’t leave it in the car with your dog, it may not be there when you get back! Let us know if you are traveling far and we can add some extra support or ribbon to help to keep it stable. 

How long does a cake last and how should I store it?

Our cakes keep very well for 5 to 7 days. We recommend storing them in a box or air-tight container in the fridge and take them out to be at room temperature for serving. That allows the chocolate ganache and butter to soften and makes the cake fluffier.

Do you offer shipping/courier?

Unfortunately, we don’t offer shipping.

Do you do wedding cakes?

Queenstown Lakes is one of the most beautiful places to get married and we love being part of so many couples’ big day. We have been making wedding cakes for more than 20 years, learned and evolved with the times still keeping our favourite traditional recipes. We make sure our customers’ cakes look and taste amazing. What do I need to organise before my wedding cake delivery?

If flowers and decorations are not included in your wedding cake order, you will need to organise the flower arrangement in advance with your florist. Please order flowers specifically for your wedding cake, don’t presume they will have spare, and have them delivered to us or available at the venue at the cake delivery time. Decide where you’d like your wedding cake to be set up or stored. Make sure the kitchen has space in the chiller for it and the setup location in the venue is safe, shaded, and ventilated. Wedding cakes can be set up 1 to 2 hours before the event but if delivered any sooner we recommend storing them in the fridge and setting up closer to reception time.

What about allergies and dietary requirements eg. Nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free?

We run a Gluten-free certified kitchen and that means we have cleaning and testing procedures in place to make sure our products labeled as gluten-free are safe. We do not use peanuts in our kitchen so it is safe for peanut allergy but we do use nuts in many recipes so we can’t guarantee our baking will be completely nut-free. Many of our recipes are dairy-free but they are made in a kitchen where other dairy items are used.

Can I order from you and pick it up from Raeward Fresh Queenstown?

We have been supplying Raeward Fresh Queenstown with cakes and baking for the last 16 years. We have a great relationship and even though our retail products are very similar, picking up from their store is not available as it would make it too complicated to separate, organise and store orders. If our opening hours are not convenient for pick up we encourage you to order directly through them.

How to be sure my order has been placed and when can I expect to get confirmation from you?

You will get an automatic email when you place your order online and a confirmation email once we fulfill the order or a cancelation email if we are not able to fulfill it. Emails will be replied to and online orders confirmed from Monday to Friday. We are a small team of bakers and sometimes won’t be able to reply as promptly as we would like to, due to being busy in the kitchen, but we aim to reply within 24 to 48 hours. We appreciate your patience and please give us a call on (03) 442 8680 if you haven’t heard from us within 3 days of placing your order.

Do you do novelty cakes?

We don’t take orders for novelty cakes. We have a small range of kids' cakes such as Peppa Pig and Unicorn cakes. Please enquire here.

I’ve changed my mind, how do I change or cancel my order? Do I get a refund?

You can change or cancel your order 48 hours before the pick-up date. Please call us on (03) 4428680 or email from Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel your order. We bake all items to order so letting us know in advance avoids wastage. You will get a refund of 75% of your payment in advance for any orders if you cancel within 48 hours of pick-up day/time. You won’t get a refund for your 25% deposit on Wedding and custom cake orders. We are very understanding and happy to help to reschedule, change orders, keep in-store credit, please be in touch and we can always find a solution.

Do I have to pay a deposit for cake orders?

We ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit to confirm Wedding cakes, custom cakes, and any orders outside of our standard online offer. The balance must be paid 7 days before the delivery date.
